The 100 Ton Gun
In the late 19th century, the British naval authorities constructed four colossal guns to secure their territories. Two of these were installed in Gibraltar, while the other two were positioned in Malta.
Europa Point
At Gibraltar's southernmost tip lies Europa Point, where you can find the Europa Point Lighthouse. This location offers stunning views across the Strait of Gibraltar, extending to Northern Africa, specifically Morocco.
St Michael's Cave
Next, we will ascend to explore St Michael's Cave, an extraordinary natural wonder. This cave, with its vast caverns, attracts thousands of visitors annually.
Top of The Rock
Your private tour guide will then take you to The Top of the Rock, where you'll be treated to breathtaking views of Gibraltar. Here, you can observe our famous monkeys up close, watching them play, eat, groom each other, and perhaps even climb on your back for a memorable photo opportunity.
Skywalk Glass Viewing Platform
At The Top of the Rock, you can also experience the Skywalk Glass Viewing Platform. Opened by Star Wars actor Mark Hamill, this platform allows you to stand on transparent glass above a significant drop, offering stunning east-side views of Gibraltar.
The Great Siege Tunnels
From there, we'll head to the north side of the Rock to visit the Great Siege Tunnels. This fascinating site delves into Gibraltar's history under siege in the 18th century, filled with stories of historic battles and the construction and use of the tunnels.
The Moorish Castle
Construction of the Moorish Castle began in the 8th century AD, possibly in 711 AD, though the completion date is unknown. The castle's walls encompass a large area extending down to the town. The Tower of Homage, the tallest tower from the Islamic rule in the Iberian Peninsula, and the Qasbah, the largest in the region, are notable features. The castle played a significant role in the Muslim invasion of the Iberian Peninsula and housed Gibraltar's prison until 2010.
